About Us

My motivation in creating this website was to tell the life stories of my Grandfather (John William Coxon DCM) who served in World War I and my Father (Robert Coxon) who served in World War II. You can view their stories on other pages.

While conducting the research I realised that there were so many other individuals with our name whose life should be researched and told. It was apparent that the names Coxon, Coxen and Coxson are derivations and further research led those names back to 1066 and the Norman invasion of England.

This website has grown to include many amazing individuals; their stories have crossed the centuries. I have been pleasantly surprised by the popularity of the website and many people have made contact with questions, information and ideas. The website has had over 15,000 views since launch in 2016.
